Not sure that's quite how it went.Mary went to France when she was 5 years old. Elizabeth didn't become queen for another ten years. Perhaps you'd like to believe that it was those nasty English against the blameless Scots, (who were being helped by those noble French). The gangster Henry VIII was right in there, as was the Scottish crown and the scheming French. Fact is, they were all gangsters trying to outdo each other. As is most history. There's nowt romantic about it. Nice song though.
