when you do a normal jibe you push the sail forwards. do you do this while carve jibing or do you just rail the board and sheet in???

Thanks dascher nice video. 90% of the rec. jibes on youtube are the "peter hart" kind. Flip first, feet after. Most slalom and formula sailors are step jibing, feet first sail flip after. On 7.5 size gear and this jibe will grind to halt every time if you don't flip and change FAST and on a run. Sailing clew first in light winds wont work for long, a stalled sail wont't power well. The downside the the "hart jibe" is that you have nothing to hang onto in the downwind part of the jibe.

To the guys down below: straight locked legs equals bouncing. Dascher here has bent legs and a relaxed stance. Some call this instructor steez :p. To the other guy; all steering is done with weight shifting while planing. Bank the board with your body weight, the rails will create a trough and the board will follow it.

why is the boards moving to the right is it caused by wind/sail or by shifting ur feet and "pressing" the board to the right?

Great video and thanksCan someone comment on the mechanics? I can see that you sheet in hard after unhook. If I try to do the same and hang my weight down, seems like I have a up and down body motion. It de-stabilizes the board and sometimes I get bounces off. I usually slide my back foot slowly across to initiate the turn but it is not perfect especially on a high wind day. I am still missing something here.
